We who have kennel Zelzany is mother Barbro and daughter Ann-Sofie. We live on the west side of the beautiful island Orust about 100 km from Gothenburg. The kennel is conducted in a small scale in our houses with fields and woods as the nearest neighbour.

Our active dog life began in 1993 when a friends of us who had small breeding of Shih Tzu phoned and asked if we could to take care of a little black shih-tzu puppy with "flat" chest, we did not know if she would survive or not, we hesitated, but when we see this little black puppy, we could not say no. At four months old the vet said she was healthy and the “flat” chess had grown away. We named her Tazette and she was a big dog in small body. One of the funniest memories of Tazette was when we were at a show and she barked at a Great Dane so it crept under his owners's chair. A life with Tazette was full of surprises and mischievous pranks. This little black puppy was the start of our interest in dogs and also exhibition and breeding.

Tazette soon got two friends in the form of Tintin one shih-tzu who was forced to be re-positioned and Clodette a little nine month old grey shih-tzu bitch. This bitch was the beginning of our breeding. The first two litters Clodette had was in the kennel name Choowo-Liz and from one of these litter we saved a solid golden bitch named Zally. Zally had one litter. Next shih-tzu who became a part of our dog family was Ebba and she is the first puppy born in our kennel name Zelzany.

What was it that we began to be interested in this unusual breed Cinerco dell Etna?
It all started one day in 2005 when we received an email from our saluki breeder. Elisabeth had bought a puppy of a breed we never had heard of. The photo we received showed a cute and small red puppy with the biggest ears we have ever seen and then we were done for it, we just want to have a such a dog. We began to investigate the facts about the Cirneco and realized that it would fit perfect into our family. An email went of to Elizabeth that the first bitch who would be born we wanted gladly to buy. Two years later, she was born our Shafaq Antonia Design (Cleo) whit big ears and a small twist on her tail.

Our interest in the Field Spaniel started many years ago when we wanted to have a new spaniel that day when our beloved Siri was getting old. Our intends was to get an English Springer Spaniel, but however our eyes fell on the breed Field Spaniel who has the beautiful colour solid brown like Siri has. We began reading and their properties and appearance appealed to us. We lay down the plans for a while when we had young and active dogs at the time. But last year 2008 when Siri became 14 years old we began to search for a kennel and we found Maxfield kennel on the island Rörö. Ann-Sofie began to read Madelene’s blogg and then one day she read that their bitch Irma was going to have puppies, so Ann-Sofie wrote an email and explaining that we were interested in buying a bitch puppy. We got a quick reply from Madelene that we were welcome to visit her and her dogs. This was great fun because we had not seen any Field Spaniel for real before, they're are rare breed in Sweden. We scheduled a visit. The visit was definitely make up our minds for a Field Spaniel, and it would be hopefully from Madelene. Now began the long wait for the big day when the pups would be born. Madelene told us that there were many who were interested in buying a bitch puppy, so it was quite a nervous time. The 22 / 3-2009 Irma give birth to a bitch and two dogs. We thought that we were not probably to get the opportunity to buy a puppy. Then came an email from Madelene, who wondered if we could wait and see if her little bitch puppy will developed well. Of course, we wanted to wait and see. The days passed and the puppies grew and everything looked good. At last came the day when we could visit Madelene and take a look at the small miracles. They were just so lovely the three small brownies and the big question was if we could buy the little bitch. We got her and this was one of our happiest days. At May the 17:th, she arrived home little sweet Gloria.
